Hagia Sophia

Recently we have been playing a game called Civilization IV which is a history game which involves lots of world wonders. I saw one called the Hagia Sophia and decided to research it. Here are my results.

The Hagia Sophia is the mother church of Eastern Christianity . It was also known as Holy Wisdom. It is one of the Eight Wonders Of The World. It is located in Istanbul. It is currently a museum. Hagia Sophia means Divine Wisdom. There was three Hagia Sophias and the first two were burned to the ground. The third still survives today.

New Galloway train station

On Sunday we went to mossdale where there was an old, closed train station. We went out along the road which used to be a train track. Yesterday i found out more about the railway line. Here is the result of my research.

The railway line was open from 1861 until 1965. It was known as the Port Road which was written about in the book "The Lost Railway Lines Of Galloway".

Here are some pictures.
