Pike fishing!

Yesterday i went pike fishing! We had a campfire and most of the time we were huddled around it. I caught a pike and it was probably the biggest fish i have ever seen and it was estimated to be around about 4 pounds.Obviously we put the toothy monster back in the water. Big al (the person who was with us)almost caught what he said felt like a 20 pound pike. Here are some pictures and a video

Barack Obama's Inauguration

Yesterday Barack Obama was inaugurated as the 44th President of America and was also the first African-American President. And it is finally the end of the presidency of George W Bush! There was also a record-breaking amount of people present- roughly 2 million! And that speech of his would stick in you for ages ,it would! One of the things that made it so memorable was that just 50 years ago black people in America had to fight to get into college.

The Eragon book series

At Christmas i got the book Brisingr. I already had the previous two books so i decided to reread the series and here is my review.

The Eragon book series review

In Eragon (first book) the adventure starts when Eragon ,a simple farm boy, finds a strange blue stone in the forests of the Spine. He thinks it will make his family's riches but when a dragon hatchling named Saphira breaks out of the stone he realises that he has stumbled upon an ancient legacy.Then the Ra'zac appear and they destroy his old farmhouse and kill Eragons uncle ,Garrow. Driven by revenge ,Eragon chases the Ra'zac acompanied by the mysterious village storyteller ,Brom. He goes to the Varden just before the battle of Farthen Dur and in the heat of battle kills the Shade ,Durza.

In Eldest (second book) Eragon's cousin Roran fights a new battle back home in Carvhall . And Eragon must go to Ellesmera ,the heart of elvendom in Alagaesia for further training in the skills of a Dragon Rider. Roran then has to flee Carvhall to Teirm where they meet Jeod and with his help pirate one of the empires ships, The Dragon Wing. Then the Battle Of The Burning Plains takes place just as Roran and the rest of the people of Carvhall and it is reveald that Galbitorix The Tyrant King has managed to make one of the remaining dragon eggs hatch...

In Brisingr (third book) Eragon and his cousin Roran finally defeat the Ra'zac
and rescue Katrina ,Rorans beloved, from their grasp.Then Eragon must go and oversee the electing of the new Dwarf king and it turns out that Orik is the new dwarf king. Then he goes to Ellesmera and finds out Galbatorixs source of power - The Eldunari (a dragons Heart of hearts)of which he has many .Then he finds a nodule of brightsteel with which he forges a riders swords with the aid of Rhunon and names it Brisingr .The book ends with the siege of Feinster.

So there is my conclusion of the currently out Eragon books.

Christmas and the New Year

After the Christmas holidays i have lots to post including the weather(quite cold but dry - still no snow!).Lets start with Christmas!
I woke up and got my stocking .In it i got a sheet of temporary tattoos,thirteen chocolate coins,a bionicle,3 magical elves(fizzy chocolate that goes pop in your mouth),Foam Red arrow,Foam great eagle,a bouncy ball, A quad-colour pen ,and an apple.Then we had a family breakfast that consisted mainly of cereal.Then we opened our presents.
I had got mum some Japanese incense and dad some gloves and a hat.I got two selection boxes,a hatching foam reptile egg,600 yu-gi-oh cards,two new yu-gi-oh tins,Lego batman(wii game),Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party(Wii game),Brisingr (the third book about Eragon the dragon rider),A Lego mat,Twenty-five pounds,two bionicle,Two outdoor survival cups,A waboba ball(apparently it bounces on water),Special pen and pencil,and five milky way bars.
Then we had Christmas dinner which was extremely stuffing and really nice
Then on the 27th granny came up and with her some more presents.
The next event of note was new years eve and i stayed up till midnight.
Then we got all busy cooking for our new year celebration. we made some vegetarian haggis and other such things(they were all delicious)
My favorite present was the Lego Batman Wii game-I have already done roughly 60%.It has a really good feature which is villan play in which you can be villans like The Joker!
I have had tons of fun and unfortuately tomorrow the Christmas decorations are coming down.
